It's Official... Tacos & Burritos ARE Sandwiches

Have you ever wondered if tacos and burritos are sandwiches? If the answer is yes, then wonder no more, because it has officially been decreed that they are indeed sandwiches.

The question has been put to rest by a court of law. Yes, a court of law in the state of Indiana mulled over the question, as a result of a lawsuit, brought by a man named Martin Quintana. Martin tried to open a taco joint in a strip mall in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, but ran into a problem, specifically a contract that limits the type of restaurants allowed in that shopping center.

The contract says you can only open a place that sells “made-to-order or subway style sandwiches.”  So he sued, claiming tacos and burritos ARE sandwiches.  The contract was designed to prevent big fast-food chains from moving in.

His case has been making its way through the legal system, and a superior court judge ruled on Monday . . . that YES, tacos and burritos are sandwiches... “Mexican-style sandwiches.”

There could still be an appeal, and the next judge might disagree, but for now, enjoy your sandwiches at Taco Bell or your preferred Mexican restaurant.
