Listening to Music May Speed Up Recovery From Surgery

Music may have a calming effect on patients recovering from surgery– reducing anxiety, perceived pain, and heart rate.

Researchers noticed a reduction in cortisol levels when listening to music may play a role in easing patients’ recovery.

Patients who listened to music used less than half of the amount of morphine compared to those who did not listen to music.
