Call me a sucker for stories about rescues that don’t just involve people but also their animal companions.
A man and his dog were rescued from an icy lake in Massachusetts, after the man fell in trying to get his dog out, who fell in first.
The man and his two dogs were walking near a lake, when one of his dogs, Tommy, ran after some birds and fell through the icy water on the lake. So, of course, his human dad went after him. Luckily, before he ventured out, the man told someone to call 911. It was a good thing, because he fell through the ice himself.
Luckily, he was only in the water for 10-15 minutes and then first responders pulled him out. Then they went back for Tommy.
All’s well that ends well... the man and his dog were pulled out of the frigid water and suffered no ill effects from their icy dip.
Here’s video of the rescue.
