Move Over Scorsese, Dunkin' Just Dropped a New Movie

Dunkin’, the coffee-and-donut chain that apparently has more money than they know what to do with, just unleashed a cinematic masterpiece upon the unsuspecting Super Bowl audience. I’m not talking about a 30-second commercial, I’m talking about a full-blown, seven-minute short film disguised as an extended ad, starring none other than Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Tom Brady. The DunKings have arrived...again.

The whole thing started, as most good things in life do, with Ben Affleck’s well-documented love affair with Dunkin’. He was snapped by TMZ with that orange and pink cup so many times, he became the unofficial (and probably unpaid - at least at the time) face of the brand. But all of this culminated in a very funny commercial for last year’s game.

This year? They upped the ante. The Super Bowl ad itself was just the tip of the iceberg. The Dunkings are back but this time, they need to work on their roasting skills as diss tracks are now what “the fans” are looking for.

But wait, there’s more! Dunkin’ then dropped a seven-minute extended version of this glorious mess online. It’s got more celebrity cameos, more awkward dancing, and more Dunkin’ product placement than you can shake a Munchkin at. It has to be seen to be believed.

The plot, if you can even call it that, revolves around Affleck’s desperate attempt to become a pop star, fueled by his love for Dunkin’ and his misguided belief that he’s got what it takes. It also introduced the world to Dunkin’s new DunKings menu - oh yeah, these are COMMERCIALS.
