Surprising Insect Popularity Poll: Some Bugs Are Loved, Others Bug Us!

We have bugs year-round in Florida, but their population definitely increases in the summer. Do you have a favorite insect?

A recent poll asked people about 20 different insects and their reactions to them: positive, negative, or neutral.

Butterflies topped the list, with 80% of people having a positive view of them, 15% feeling neutral, and only 4% having a negative view.

Fireflies came in second, followed by ladybugs, honey bees, dragonflies, caterpillars, bumblebees, praying mantises, earthworms, and grasshoppers.

Unsurprisingly, mosquitoes are not popular. They ranked last, with 86% of people having a negative view, 8% feeling neutral, and 5% of hardcore nature lovers saying they like mosquitoes.

Cockroaches were the second-most disliked, followed by wasps, ants, cicadas, spiders, spotted lanternflies, June bugs, moths, and roly-polys.

Which reminds me... why did the mosquito get invited to the party? Because it really knew how to suck up to people!
