Was last night’s National Anthem the worst rendition EVER?

The worst rendition of the National Anthem may have happened last night at the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby in Arlington, Texas.

Country singer Ingrid Andress just butchered it. It’s kind of crazy to me she was this bad, because I am a little familiar with her and her work. Andress has opened up for huge country stars like Keith Urban and Dan & Shay. She even opened for Stevie Nicks last year! She’s been nominated for 4 Grammys, 2 Country Music Association Awards and more. She had a minor hit song, that I liked called, “More Hearts Than Mine.” She had a hit song she dueted on with Sam Hunt called, “Wishful Drinking,” which I also liked.

But I don’t know if she didn’t practice enough or if she was simply out of her vocal range but it was bad. BAD. See for yourself. I hope you’re sitting down. Your knees might buckle.

Her version is being compared to when former Olympic track and field star butchered it before an NBA game in 1993. He had bad singing and a very bad and weird arrangement of the song. Here is his rendition.

Then there was Fergie, who sang it before the 2018 NBA All-Star game. That girl can sing... that wasn’t the problem. The problem is that she actually tried to make it sexy. It was odd, to say the least.

Who sang it worse? You be the judge.

I’ve been in radio here in Jax, playing country music for a long time, but I’m now trading my cowboy hat in for a lovely tiara & I’m excited to be on Easy 102.9.
